About Us
The Digital Safe Space platform is an initiative of the State Department for
Gender and Affirmative Action, a government department responsible for coordinating national efforts to
promote gender equality, protect vulnerable populations, and eliminate gender-based violence in Kenya.
The department operates under the Ministry of Gender, Culture, the Arts and Heritage and plays a central
role in developing policies, programmes, and partnerships that advance gender equality and social
inclusion across the country.
Through its work with national and county governments, civil society organizations, and development
partners, the department supports initiatives aimed at strengthening survivor protection systems,
promoting women’s empowerment, and addressing gender-based violence both offline and in digital spaces.
